My 5 Projects for The New Year

I’ve been working hard over the past few months on a number of new projects that will be launched in 2020. In mid-2019 I launched my Etsy shop to financially support my blog and other advocacy work. This blog is 100% not-for-profit and its sole aim is the help those who live with a chronic illness or disability.

Here are a few things to watch out for in 2020 under The Reluctant Spoonie name:

1. YouTube

I will be launching my YouTube Channel in January 2020 to make my content more accessible to those with cognitive issues such as brain fog that can make it difficult to read. I hope to post a video once a month on a chronic illness lifestyle topic.

2. My POTS eBook

I have been working hard over the last few months putting together my first eBook about living with POTS. This book will complement the posts on my blog and the medical information that you can get from POTSUK and Dysautonomia International. I will be covering topics such as dating, socialising, working and studying when you live with POTS. It will also include personal stories from three people who live with POTS and how they manage their day-to-day lives. I hope this book will be a useful resource to those who have been newly diagnosed with POTS.

3. Social Media Assistant

I will be taking on a Social Media Assistant in 2020 to manage my Facebook page. This will allow me to have more time to work on other projects and provide valuable work experience for someone who is interested in chronic illness blogging.

4. Sustainable Living Segment

As my student days draw to a close, I will be starting a new blog segment on Sustainable Living with Chronic Illness. I have recently completed my master’s in Environmental Management and would like to use my degree knowledge to help people live less environmentally impactful lives through my blog. Those with chronic illnesses and disabilities are often left out of the conversation when governments are discussing environmental policies such as straw bans and congestion charges. I hope that my blog and social channels safe spaces where people with chronic illnesses and disabilities can discuss environmental issues. I will also be writing posts on thrifting tips and sustainable craft projects.
